About Embossing
Embossing requires a specially designed metal die (female) and a matching counter die (male). The paper is pressed between the heated die and the counter die, and the image is pressed into the back of the paper to create a raised image. The process to indent the paper is the same. To do a 3D-like embossing like this, the machine must apply high pressure to the dies.
It requires the machines to have a stronger and heavier machine body to provide the stronger force. It also requires the machine itself to be more durable to prevent the high pressure from hurting the machine itself. Thus, the machine also needs stronger materials and better connections between the parts.
Our ML-A series and TYMA series (hot foil stamping) are specially designed for extra-pressure work like embossing. The main transmission parts were all specially heat-treated, with a thicker structure and stronger die-cutting parts and connecting parts, including copper bearings, bushings, etc. The result of embossing, which was done by the A-series, is significantly more impressive than the average ML model.
Similarly, our automatic die-cutting machines with extra-force versions also perform better on embossing than ordinary designs. As with the manual machine, the extra-force version has a stronger and heavier machine body and more durable connections.
The longer and more dense the die is, the greater the pressure it needs. It’s always the best to share your etched dies with us so we can provide the most suitable recommendations about the machine.
